Grupazo de New York. Estos (Helmet) con un primer disco prometedor como
fué "Strap It On" y un segundo que les dio a conocer como era "Meantime"
en el tercero les tocaba consagrarse y asi fué. El album comienza con
esa tremenda "Wilma's Rainbow" donde la voz de Page Hamilton
(guitarrista y cantante) suena menos corrosiva y mas melodica que en lo
publicado anteriormente por la banda, aunque la columna vertebral del
grupo sigue intacta gracias al gran trabajo de Jonh (Bateria) y Henry
(bajo) los solos grandilocuentes de Noise Rock siguen ahi en plena
forma.
En "I Know" el segundo corte del album Page vuelve a cantar como si en vez de garganta tuviera una lijadora,escupe rabia a raudales,es un tema con un toque mas Post Hardcore/Metal que el anterior. "Biscuits For Smut" es uno de mis cortes favoritos del album, resulta mas experimental de lo normal con la voz de Page reverberizada con megafono,suena a primera etapa de TOOL de "Undertow" osea mas Alternativa que Metal o Post-Hardcore. "Milquetoast" fué el gran Hit del album gracias en parte a que salio en la banda sonora de la pelicula El Cuervo, resulta ser uno de sus temas mas recordados, junto al ya mitiquisimo "Meantime".Otros temas a destacar tambien serian "Rollo" "Clean" o "Spechless" que suenan menos Metal y Post-Hardcore y mas Alternativos y experimentales gracias a las reverberaciones en la voz y las melodias mas dulces y Pop. La sorpresa en el disco viene con los temas "Beautiful Love" con una intro Jazz,con la final "Sam Hell" un tema Folk de andar por casa que recuerda a Primus como lo recuerda tambien "The Silver Hawaiian" aunque a mi con este corte me viene mas a la cabeza una banda como Fun Lovin Criminals. Imprescindible disco para comprender lo que fué mas tarde el Nu-Metal y recordar a algunos/as quién fué una de las bandas que abrio el camino a Deftones, Incubus, Korn, Slipknot, P.O.D...

Great band from New York. These (Helmet) with a first album was promising as "Strap It On" and a second that I was announced as "Meantime" in the third they played consecrate and it was. The album begins with the tremendous "Wilma's Rainbow" where the voice of Page Hamilton (guitarist and singer) sounds less corrosive and more melodic than the previously released by the band, but the backbone of the group remains intact thanks to the great work of Jonh (drums) and Henry (bass) grandiloquent solos Noise Rock still there in good shape.
In "I Know" the second single from the album Page returns to sing as if instead of having a sander throat, spitting rage in abundance, is a topic with a touch more Post Hardcore / Metal as above. "Biscuits For Smut" is one of my favorite cuts from the album, is more experimental than usual with the voice of Page reverberizada with megaphone sounds TOOL first stage of "Undertow" alternative to bone or Post-Hardcore Metal. "Milquetoast" was the big hit of the album due in part to the release in the soundtrack of the movie The Crow, happens to be one of his most memorable, and next to mitiquisimo "Meantime."
