KINGS OF LEON
"MECHANICAL BULL"
RCA
2013
Sixth working in the discography of more cousin Followill brothers (nearby) in this case, where again approach their first two albums, but the sound of the past, following the downturn that led the previous "Come Around Sundown" at compositional but not in terms of sales, KOL fully rejuvenated again three years later and nearly ten years since their first album and distant as Southern Rock / Alternative "Youth and Young Manhood".
Once again, still being produced by Angelo Petraglia usual in their latest albums.
The starting signal is given by the first single "Supersoaker" which has a claw that seemed absent and that is very welcome, as a good example of this we also have the cuts "Do not Matter", "Temple" or "Come Back Again ". We find ourselves subjects mojabragas Soft Rock as "Wait For Me" or the wonderful "Beatiful War" a cut that goes in crescendo from less to more, and that is winning with tracks. One of my favorite cuts is the key vacilona in pseudo Funk "Family Tree" with an aftertaste aged like a fine wine to be uncorked and a chorus you dont get to chant over and over again. But however, we found an issue that shines above the rest as the Ballad Country "On The Chin" to close an album more than acceptable, although not the best of his career, which the followers of Kings of Leon and must have accepted that they are a band of irregular discography in which even their best albums have weak moments.
Although 'Mechanical Bull' is a clear upward trend in his career, is not free from the norm and have songs like 'Rock City' or 'Comeback Story' where neither the music nor the lyrics seem very inspired, however, the sixth KOL work shows a band that seems definitely on track to find herself stylistically and above all is much more than an excuse to go on tour and return to fill stadiums.
