Primus a sido una especie de banda maldita para mi, siempre los he tenido muy bien considerados además amo especialmente a Les Claypool por ser un autentico virtuoso del bajo (Posiblemente el mejor bajista de los últimos 25 años) pero en cambio cuando realizo alguna lista de mis grupos preferidos o hablo con algún conocido sobre música, nunca soy capaz de colocar a Primus en ningún podio ni en ningún Top 10, y en cierto modo es un reflejo de lo que siempre han sido como una de las grandes bandas mas infravaloradas de nuestro tiempo.
Seguramente parte de culpa también la hayan tenido ellos por su estrafalario estilo que no encajaba demasiado ni en la cultura Alternativa ni en la escena del Metal. Muchas personas ni siquiera pueden pensar a que género pertenecen. Pero a veces no importa el género, lo que realmente es importante es que siguen haciendo música increíble, y este disco no es la excepción.
Si has oído hablar de la banda lo mas probable es que haya sido gracias a la destreza increíble de Les Claypool en el bajo. Esta
es la razón por la que todo el mundo escucha a la banda, pero eso no
significa que el resto sea malo, al contrario.
Supongo que lo mejor para empezar seria volver a decir lo dicho una vez más. El bajo es increíblemente impresionante. Les Claypool tiene la capacidad de hacer sonar su bajo como una guitarra, no cabe duda que es uno de los mejores bajistas de todos los tiempos. También habría que destacar la guitarra que a menudo se pasa por alto porque siempre se le presta más atención al bajo, pero las partes de guitarra están muy bien llevadas. Larry LaLonde demuestra que también es un excelente músico y hace del álbum algunas partes de guitarra muy divertidas (como de Groundhog's Day). Estoy convencido que no te decepcionará la guitarra en este álbum.

La batería una
vez más, se queda fuera de la atención a causa de Claypool, pero también suena algunos momentos muy fresca y llena técnica. Tim "Herb" Alexander hace un trabajo muy bueno en este álbum.
Entonces llegando a este punto que técnicamente es un disco que roza la perfección donde esta lo malo? Yo diría y supongo que coincido con mas gente que lo que falla en esta banda es simplemente una cosa y es la voz. Ciertamente cuando la escuchas es divertida, pero no es increíble ni te marca en ningún sentido. Se suma a la imagen peculiar de la banda. Es de los pocos grupos que conozco donde la voz no es lo importante para ellos, es como un acompañamiento, el enfoque principal de la banda es la música.
Este álbum es sin duda un gran disco infravalorado en la música en los años 90's. Contiene muchos estilos diferentes y los combinan en un sonido impresionante como son Primus.

has been a kind of fucking band for me, I have always been highly
regarded in addition to Les Claypool especially love being a virtuoso
bass (Possibly the best bass player in the last 25 years) but when I
make a change list my
favorite bands or talk to someone you know about music, I can never put
on any podium Primus or any Top 10, and in some ways is a reflection of
what they have always been one of the most underrated great bands of
our time.
Surely
some of the blame also have had them for their quirky style that did
not quite fit in either culture or Alternative Metal scene. Many people can not even think about what gender they belong. But sometimes no matter what gender, what really matters is still making great music, and this album is no exception.
If you've heard of the band most likely is that it was thanks to the incredible skills of Les Claypool on bass. This is the reason why everyone listens to the band, but that does not mean the rest is bad, quite the contrary.I guess it would be better to start again say that again. The bass is incredibly impressive. Les Claypool has the ability to blow the bass like a guitar, no doubt, is one of the best bassists of all time. We
should also note the guitar is often overlooked because they always pay
more attention to the bass, but the guitar parts are very well taken. Larry
LaLonde shows that it is also an excellent musician and the album makes
some very cool guitar parts (like Groundhog's Day). I am convinced that the guitar will not be disappointed in this album.
The battery again, stays out of the spotlight because of Claypool, but also some moments sounds very fresh and full technical. Tim "Herb" Alexander does a very good job on this album.
So getting to this point which is technically a near-perfect record where this bad? And I guess I would agree with most people that what is wrong with this band is simply one thing and is the voice. Certainly when you hear it is fun, but not amazing or brand you in any way. Joins the band peculiar image. One
of the few groups that I know where the voice is not important to them,
is as an accompaniment, the main focus of the band's music.
This album is definitely a great album underrated in music in the 90's. It contains many different styles and combine them into an awesome sound like Primus.
