Sexto álbum de la banda liderada por el inconfundible Brett anderson y los suyos. Se trata de su sexto trabajo de estudio tras el fiasco de " A new morning" en el 2002. Han tenido que pasar más de diez años para que volvieran a grabar juntos nuevo material tras los intentos fallidos de The Tears junto con el ex-guitarrista de la primera época el esplendido Bernard Butler y posteriores trabajos en solitario de Anderson. En el disco nos encontramos diez temas en apenas cuarenta minutos de duración. El disco comienza con "Barriers" que ya era conocido por todos meses atrás de single de presentación de este nuevo álbum. Como dato positivo decir que en la producción ha vuelto de nuevo Ed Buller que ya produjo sus tres primeros discos. En el apartado musical no se encuentran grandes diferencias con respecto a su discografia, pero si una pequeña mejoría con respecto a sus dos últimos lanzamientos. Podríamos decir que es una continuación de su aclamado "Coming Up" sin llegar a ser tan valioso y tan directo como aquel lejano ya tercer disco de la banda inglesa. canciones a destacar el single "It starts and ends with you" o "hit me" con un principio de batería muy típico de su primera etapa. Decir que la sensación que le queda a uno tras las escuchas es de que estas viviendo,escuchando,recordando canciones que ya no tienen la fuerza necesaria y el factor sorpresa de antaño, si no que estas viviviendo algo de lo cual ha pasado ya hace mucho tiempo y ves con lejanía y quizás algo de apatía, como una vieja novia a la que hace tiempo que no ves y te alegras de saber de ella pero ya nunca será lo mismo que antes. Lo cual no hace que sea un mal disco, si no que se queda un poco a medias de lo que uno podía esperar, pero de un comeback así que podríamos esperar? ellos no son David Bowie por mucho que pretendan serlo. En definitiva un retorno a medias a sus orígenes ,eso si, sin estar en su mejor momento, de todas formas esperemos a ver como defienden el cancionero en directo.
