"Between Planets" es una de las mejores cosas que escuchado en mi jodida vida. Esa es mi frase inicial de esta reseña. "Automatic", un álbum que casi siempre se trata con inferioridad referente a los dos anteriores, algo que no estoy muy de acuerdo. El sonido y la producción de este álbum es más "profesional" que cualquiera de los dos que vinieron antes. No hay duda de eso. Lo que tenemos que decidir es si es algo bueno o no. También hay un factor reseñable que comentar... que Jesus And Mary Chain se redujeron a un dúo en esta etapa, básicamente los hermanos Reid. Por lo tanto, tenemos una caja de ritmos, un bajo sintetizado y otros instrumentos que pretenden ser guitarras.! Tenemos algunas canciones donde la producción, la reproducción y las melodías, todas juntas se combinan excelentemente.
Vamos a escoger algunas canciones destacables. "Coast To Coast" contiene ese excelente sonido característico que rompe con la música rock establecida. Podrían haber hecho más de lo mismo, pero "Coast To Coast" sigue siendo una agradable conducción al Shoegaze de todos modos. "Head On", para después ser versionados por The Pixies, es una roca punteaguda que te mata, es una canción clásica de melodía Rock'n'roll. Al igual que la distorsión controlada de "Her Way of Praying". Sí, la composición que muestran en las mejores canciones aquí, demuestran que Jesus And Mary Chain es una evolución perfeccionada y mejorada desde los días de "Psychocandy". Echemos un vistazo a "Here Comes Alice", es una canción a la altura de las mejores canciones de cualquiera de los dos últimos álbums de largo, pero con mas libertad. Tenemos una suave canción acústica titulada "Drop" que varía el estado de ánimo del álbum, una maravilla. Y defenitivamente "Between Planets" es una de esas canciones que levantan el animo solo con los primeros acordes, dan ganas de bailar y saltar. Desprende mucha energía positiva. Lamentablemente, el resto del álbum, las canciones que no he mencionado, dejan un poco que desear, sobre todo cuando tratan de adentrarse en territorio "Psychocandy". He mencionado el hecho de que el grupo utilizó una caja de ritmos? Bueno, algunos temas especialmente sufren de esto. "UV Ray" se abre con un solo de caja de ritmos. Las guitarras que se exhiben a lo largo de "UV Ray" probablemente habrían sido mucho más agradables si no se hubieran ahogado con la batería empleada. Una canción como "Take It" tipifica el problema, la batería suena programada y repetitiva simplemente irrita y esta a la altura esperada. Es una pena, especialmente para una canción como 'Take It', una canción por debajo, con un potencial real. En última instancia, la mayor parte del material real contenido en 'Automatic' es en general bastante bueno. "Automatic" sigue siendo un buen disco, divertido de escuchar, incluso con sus defectos.

"Between Planets" is one of the best things I heard in my fucking life. That's my opening sentence of this review. "Automatic", an album that almost always treated with respect inferior to the previous two, which is not really agree. The sound and production of this album is more "professional" than either of the two that came before. No doubt about it. What we have to decide is if it is good or not. There is also a notable factor that comment ... Jesus And Mary Chain which were reduced to a duo at this stage, basically the Reid brothers. Therefore, we have a drum machine, a synth bass and other instruments purporting to be guitars.! We have some songs where the production, reproduction and melodies, all combined together excellently.
Let's pick some outstanding songs. "Coast To Coast" contains excellent characteristic sound that breaks with established rock music. They could have made more of the same, but "Coast To Coast" remains a pleasant drive to Shoegaze anyway. "Head On", later to be versioned by The Pixies, is a rock pointing that kills you, it's a classic song melody Rock'n'roll. As controlled distortion "Her Way of Praying". Yes, the composition shown in the best songs here, show that Jesus And Mary Chain is an evolution perfected and improved since the days of "Psychocandy". Let's look at "Here Comes Alice" is a song at the height of the best songs of any of the last two albums long, but with more freedom. We have a soft acoustic song titled "Drop" which varies the mood of the album, a marvel. And defenitivamente "Between Planets" is one of those uplifting songs only with the first chords, make you want to dance and jump. It gives off positive energy. Unfortunately, the rest of the album, the songs that I have not mentioned, leave a bit to be desired, especially when trying to venture into territory "Psychocandy". I mentioned the fact that the group used a drum machine? Well, some issues especially suffer from this. "UV Ray" opens with a drum solo. The guitars on display along "UV Ray" probably would have been much nicer if they had drowned with the battery used. A song like "Take It" typifies the problem, and programmed the drums sound repetitive and this just irritates the expected height. It's a shame, especially for a song like 'Take It', a song below, with real potential. Ultimately, most of the real material contained in 'Automatic' is generally quite good. "Automatic" is still a good album, fun to listen to, even with its flaws.
