Para mi no existe un dios todopoderoso. No hay un creador del universo. No soy creyente. Tengo mi propia religión. Ni mejor ni peor que la vuestra. A mi me sirve que de eso constan las religiones de hacernos la vida un poco mejor… Y ahí Sir Paul McCartney es mi dios particular. Ese ser todopoderoso que todo lo que toca lo convierte en algo mágico. En The Beatles, con los Wings o solo da igual es el amo y señor de la melodía eterna. Como todo dios todopoderoso se aburre y divaga… Crea música clásica y acierta. Le da por sacar un disco de Jazz y lo borda y con este "New" juega a ser Paul y una vez más nos mata a todos de envidia. Una canción como "Alligator" suena al Paul de siempre y moderno a la vez… El invento el metal en "Helter Skelter". No hay nada que podamos hacer nosotros los mortales que el Dios McCartney no haya hecho antes mil veces. El Pop con mayúsculas es el estilo más divicil del mundo. Burt Bacharan, Cole Porter, Brian Wilson y él son los grandes maestros en esto. Nunca se apreciara suficiente su labor con la humanidad. Juega a rockear en la fantástica "Save us" y nos retroalimenta del pasado más glorioso con la magnifica "Queenie eye". "I can bet" vivira en mi cerebro para siempre. Aunque estemos en pleno siglo XXI el sigue adelantado a su tiempo. Ha vuelto a crear una obra maestra de cabo a rabo. No sobra nada. "Early days" es tan Beatle que se te encoge el corazón… hasta que Paul decide dar por finalizado el revival. Incluso se permite el lujo de inventar la música del futuro con una canción sublime como "Appreciate" dandole en toda la boca a David Bowie. Paul siempre jugo con ventaja. Es Dios. "Hossana" anda también tocada por una varita mágica. John debe de estar revolviendo en su tumba al ver este gran trabajo de Paul. El mundo será mucho peor cuando me falte él. Pero mientras tanto nos muestra como será la música durante los próximos 50 años, como ya hizo hace 50 con The Beatles. La categoría de disco del año le queda pequeña…
