Hace pocos días salio a la venta el nuevo álbum de estudio de una de las pioneras bandas de Grunge de Seattle (con respeto a Melvins). Noveno álbum de su carrera para conmemorar su veinticinco aniversario, cosa que se dice ben pronto, desde que muchos los descubrimos con "Touch me I'm SIck" decir que de todo el Boom que hubo en Seattle a comienzos de los años ochenta en el estado de Washington, son por desgracia de los únicos supervivientes a buen nivel compostitivo, ya que bandas de su ciudad como Nirvana están desaparecidos ya, otras como Alice In Chains perdieron a Layne y ya nada es lo mismo desde entonces, otras como Soundgarden han sacado un nuevo disco de retorno nefasto y solo Pearl Jam  se han mantenido en la cresta de la ola pese a que sus últimos discos son mas bien flojitos,pero por suerte para los fans lo arreglan con el amplio abanico de canciones que dedican en sus shows a los fans. Mudhoney serian como Melvins que siempre han estado ahí, pero que nunca se les ha prestado la atención necesaria y debida que se les debería otorgar. En este nuevo álbum nos sorprenden una vez mas con diez temas (corto pero intenso)de lo que mejor saben hacer, que es Rockear con potencia Punk y Garagera combinada con estribillos oscuros pero a su vez divertidos, como es el caso de el primer single del disco como es la clásica ya "I Like It Small". Otras canciones a destacar son la contundente "Chardonnay" o la que es ya una de mis favoritas del disco como es la estupenda "The Only Son Of The Widow Nain". También nos encontramos elementos de Blues sucio  en  canciones como "Sing This Song Of Joy" y pequeños elementos Jazzisticos como en la inicial "Slipping Away" con la estupenda base rítmica de Dan y Guy. En definitiva, un gran disco para poder conmemorar su veinticinco aniversario pudiendo salir de gira para poder disfrutar una vez mas de sus incendiarios directos.

Ninth album of his career to commemorate its twenty-fifth anniversary, which is said ben soon, since we discovered many with "Touch Me I'm Sick" that all the boom that occurred in Seattle in the early eighties in the Washington state, are unfortunately the only survivors compostitivo good level because their city bands are missing and Nirvana, Alice in Chains others like Layne lost and nothing is the same since, others have taken as Soundgarden return a new album and single Pearl Jam nefarious have remained on the crest of the wave even though his latest albums are rather flojitos, but luckily for the fans arranged with the wide range of songs in her shows devoted to fans. Melvins Mudhoney would be as they have always been there, but they have never been given adequate attention and proper that they should be granted. In this new album once again surprise us with ten items (short but intense) of what they do best, which is rock with punk and power combined with refrains Garagera turn dark but funny, as is the case with the first single disk as the classic and "I Like It Small". Other songs to note are the strong "Chardonnay" or what is already one of my favorites on the disc as is the wonderful "The Only Son Of The Widow Nain". We are also elements of dirty blues songs like "Sing This Song Of Joy" and small jazz elements as in the initial "Slipping Away" with the great rhythm section of Dan and Guy. In short, a great album to commemorate its twenty-fifth anniversary touring able to once again enjoy their direct arsonists.

Si lo que andas buscando es un disco de Grunge no te andes por las ramas con pseudo grupos modernos, Mudhoney es la que personifica todo lo que el movimiento grunge representaba y es tan, ejem ... "puro" como un álbum de grunge tendria que ser. Este álbum es, por supuesto, nada más que "puro" en un sentido estético normal. Sin embargo, la esencia de la mezcla sucia, la heroína atada de punk, blues y música pop era la que se estaba produciendo en los bares de los rockeros de Seattle. Pelos largos descuidados y camisas de franela que más tarde serían coronados como 'grunge' está totalmente capturado aquí en EGBDF.El grunge de pedigrí lo encuentras con Mudhoney, como una de las bandas de grunge originales en Seattle en los ahora famosos Subpop. Cabe destacar, que ya proporcionaban una visión de las raíces del género entero, antes del transformó de la música y la cultura popular de los años 90 en la parte posterior de Nirvana y Pearl Jam. Mudhoney enfocaban a la música, al menos en los años 90 un estado caótico de salir y divertirse. Las influencias del punk son muy evidentes aquí y las canciones son cortas, fuertes y ásperas. La falta de conexión con la cultura pop contemporánea y el sentido ambivalente del humor, hacen que se distancie el grunge de toda esa parte integral de la la cultura de  aquel entonces. A pesar de que comparten muchas de las mismas influencias que otras bandas grunge, nunca transmitieron la misma angustia, rabia o la complejidad que Kurt Cobain expresaba a través de su música, ni la teatralidad de bandas como Mother Love Bone. Su sonido y su personalidad como banda es más como una mezcla entre el ambiente de los Screaming Trees y el sonido de rock de conducción de Tad. 
Musicalmente, EGBDF es probablemente mejor descrito como un lodo de blues y punk influenciado por sonido garage rock y heavy relativo al aumento de los coros vocales e interludios difusos, guitarras y solos. Esta descripción, que vagamente podría aplicarse a cualquier número de discos grunge de por entonces, en última instancia, Mudhoney suenan mas sinceros. De hecho, su versión del sonido grunge es de alguna manera muy típicas del movimiento en su conjunto, aunque su sonido sigue siendo única. Yo atribuyo esto principalmente a la voz de Mark Arm, cuya voz no era ni tan abrasiva como la de Kurt Cobain o profunda y clara como Eddie Vedder o Mark Lanegan. La voz e escalofriante combinando gemidos largos y melódicos con los habituales gritos agudos, grunge agresivos. Esto, combinado con la amplia gama de tonos que eran capaz de producir, dieron a Mudhoney coros de gran textura serpenteando con solos de guitarra.En general, es fácilmente decir o almenos a mi gusto que EGBDF es el álbum más consistente de Mudhoney. Todas las canciones son excelentes y encajan bien juntas. Este es el sonido de una de las mejores bandas de su género en su mejor momento creativo absoluto. Mientras singles de otros álbumes como 'Touch Me I’m Sick" y "Suck You Dry"son algunas de las mejores canciones individuales de Mudhoney, su sonido en general esta totalmente cristalizado y homogenizado en EGBDF. Es en resumen uno de las mejores discos de grunge jamás hechos y debe ser la escucha obligatoria para cualquier fan del genero si todavia no lo a hecho. Para acabar me gustaria decir que este disco lo escuche con 19 años en plena decada de los 90s, y la impresión que me generó "Something so clear" es incomparable a muy pocas canciones que escuchado nunca. Ahí queda dicho.

If you're looking for is a record of Grunge not walk around the bush with pseudo modern groups, Mudhoney is that personifies everything the grunge movement and is represented as, ahem ... "Pure" as a grunge album should be. This album is, of course, nothing more than "pure" in an aesthetic sense normal. However, the essence of the dirty mixture, heroin laced punk, blues and pop music was what was occurring in bars in Seattle rockers. Neglected long hair and flannel shirts that would later be crowned as 'grunge' is fully captured here in EGBDF.The pedigree grunge with Mudhoney find it as one of the original grunge bands in Seattle in the now famous Subpop. Remarkably, and provided an overview of the roots of the whole genre, transformed by music and popular culture of the 90's in the back of Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Mudhoney focused on the music, at least in the 90s a chaotic state of out and have fun. Punk influences are evident here and the songs are short, strong and rough. The lack of connection with contemporary pop culture and the ambivalent sense of humor, made to distance the grunge of all that integral to the culture of that time. Although they share many of the same influences as other grunge bands, never passed the same anguish, anger or complexity that Kurt Cobain expressed through his music, and the theatricality of bands like Mother Love Bone. Their sound and personality as a band is more like a mix between the environment of Screaming Trees and driving rock sound of Tad. 
Musically, EGBDF is probably best described as a mud blues and garage punk sound influenced by rock and heavy relative to rising vocal choruses and interludes fuzzy guitars and solos. This description, which could loosely applied to any number of disks grunge then ultimately, Mudhoney sound more sincere. In fact, his version of the grunge sound is somehow very typical of the movement as a whole, but their sound remains unique. I attribute this mainly to the voice of Mark Arm, whose voice was not as abrasive as Kurt Cobain or deep and clear as Eddie Vedder and Mark Lanegan. The creepy voice and long, melodic moans ombinando the usual shrieks, aggressive grunge. This, combined with the wide range of tones that were capable of producing, Mudhoney choirs gave great texture with meandering guitar solos.Overall, it's easy to say or at least to my taste EGBDF is the most consistent album Mudhoney. All the songs are excellent and fit well together. This is the sound of one of the best bands of the genre at its best creative all. While other albums as singles' Touch Me I'm Sick "and" Suck You Dry "are some of the best individual songs from Mudhoney, the overall sound is fully crystallized and homogeniado in EGBDF. Summary is in one of the best albums Grunge ever made and should be mandatory listening for any fan of the genre if you have not a fact. To finish I would like to say that this album will listen to 19 years in full 90s, and the impression I created "Something So Clear "is incomparable to very few songs I ever heard. That stated.
