Siempre es frustrante para los fans cuando su banda favorita, no lanza un álbum en unos pocos años.
Pero la sensación de alivio al escuchar un nuevo material es una de las mayores alzas de la vida. Cuanto más larga la espera entre álbumes, más altas son las expectativas que llegan a ser. ¿Qué pasa cuando tu banda favorita te hace esperar cinco, seis, o incluso 10 años para un nuevo álbum sólo para liberar algo tan decepcionante que uno comienza a preguntarse si la ruptura habría sido una mejor opción?

¿O qué si tu banda favorita es My Bloody Valentine y esperando 22 años para el nuevo material realmente valió la pena? He aquí un ejemplo de un álbum de dos décadas en la fabricación que hace cualquier cosa menos decepcionar. Tercer álbum de estudio de My Bloody Valentine, MBV, recoge justo donde Loveless obra maestra de 1991 dejó sin sonar como un calco del disco más exitoso de la banda.El tema del álbum inaugural, suena un poco demasiado como Loveless, pero su propósito principal es servir como una pista de transición entre el material viejo y nuevo. Guitarras familiares y voces tenues, que poco a poco nos van metiendo en un nuevo territorio como el álbum progresa.

"Only Tomorrow" y "¿Who Sees You?" también suenan familiar, pero no en la "salida fácil" en el sentido de la palabra. Hay que tener en cuenta que aproximadamente la mitad del álbum se compone de música grabada originalmente entre 1996 y 1997, por lo que, por supuesto, algunas de las canciones van a sonar un poco como sobraso caras B. Pero hay algo nuevo bajo las guitarras arremolinadas y reverberación digital. Pero en los últimos tres temas realmente toman este álbum a un nivel completamente nuevo. “In Another Way” combina un loop de batería caótica con inquietantes voces femeninas y guitarras en alza, mientras que "Nothing Is" es una locura pura con una influencia evidente en la selva música de los tambores.

La verdadera sorpresa es la última canción, "Wonder 2", que se convierte en un coro de guitarras en una sobrecarga de un motor de jet volando por nuestros oidos. El sonido es mucho más grande que las tres primeras canciones combinadas, haciendo de esta sea la más perfecta. Guitars family and faint voices, that little by little we are getting into new territory as the album progresses."Only Tomorrow" and "Who Sees You?" also sound familiar, but not in the "easy way out" in the sense of the word. Keep in mind that about half of the album consists of music originally recorded between 1996 and 1997, so, of course, some of the songs are going to sound a bit like faces sobraso B. But there is something new under the swirling guitars and digital reverb. It's raw, unknown and ready to bloom at the time "Is This and Yes"."Is This and Yes" marks a change in the solid sound, gets rid of the fuzz pedals for a resplendent church organ. Sounds clean, like a rose washed in morning dew.Continuing the metaphor (something involuntary) flowered, mbv really begins to blossom with "If I Am" and "New You. Both tracks are the trowel cleaning products without heavy guitars, but relies on electronic sounds and soothing solid rhythms of drums.But in the last three issues really take this album to a whole new level. "In Another Way" combines a drum loop with haunting female vocals chaotic and soaring guitars, while "Nothing Is" is pure madness with an evident influence on the music of jungle drums.The real surprise is the last song, "Wonder 2", which becomes a chorus of guitars in an overload of a jet engine flying around our ears. The sound is much bigger than the first three songs combined, making this is the most perfect. The flower is in full bloom and is much more interesting and complex than anyone could have expected.My Bloody Valentine has achieved an incredible feat with v mb. Not only is the album a worthy follow-up to Loveless, but also proof that Kevin Shields and company can break the wall of predictability with the power of digital reverb.
