FUTURE ISLANDS
"IN EVENING AIR"
Thrill Jockey
2010
For Future Islands is no offense confirm what is evident, contrary are proud of it, proud of his influences with some bands for over twenty years. If we make Meat Loaf singing in Depeche Mode and New Order may sound like an aberration for the vast majority of people with some common sense, for that is what you have shown me that Future Islands from the most disparate influences also can succeed and be great. It's an album that you look look where it has almost everything, from pop to techno dance darker sounds through psycodelicos. And where's the fun of it? because everything they do without guitars, only consist of Under-synthesizer and voice, authentic virtuosos performing arts thing I saw last February in the Sidecar. Their singer Sam Herring is the essence of what a "Performance" and it shows both the hard and continuously improvising in live to give that brand his. Delivery and gives the feeling that in each stanza of the songs will be beyond what we are used I can assure you.The album starts putting the meat on the grill with "Walking Through That Door" a topic with a synthesizer sound as smooth and melodic, where the voice of Sam Herring follow steps yet unobtrusive music in no time, giving a soft and soothing tone. It is one of my favorite subjects. The album continues with the songs "Long Flight" and "Tin Man" and is in "Tin Man" is where we find one of his greatest "hits", the voice of Sam returns to deliver its commitment to putting a lot of force. Excellent theme. "An Apology" is a theme calm but not having that feeling that we show in every issue. "In Evening Air" sounds like what is the title, an instrumental that makes us take off at the ground if his feet were still on the floor. Once in the air, flying and having feelings surround comes a "Hit" most eighties "Swept Inside" with a bass sound only the start reminds New Order, but we do not mind that sound like New Order, sounds all so new and old while the importance Stripped. We returned to teach Sam Herring has voice record for all occasions, his is fused with the song to give that feeling you need. The album climaxes with the two following topics "Inch of Dust" and "Vireo's Eye", with "Inch of Dust" again return to the fray with the characteristic sound of shattering voice synthesizers. And "Vireo's Eye" as it is the best song on the album and in a private capacity, it sounds like a song rejuvenated voice that wants to make war, straightforward and very eighties, to the point that when I first heard thought stood before a group of that era. If until now you had not jumped and you feel like dancing had gone, what will you do with "Vireo's Eye". and the disc concludes with "As I Fall" theme moved with a good bass sound background, good way to end.
Future Islands are there, because they will be large and because many people love the different
