La Banda de Leicester esta en su mejor momento tras entregarnos el excelente "Velociraptor!" el año pasado. Nos presentan su nuevo disco, un doble en directo como los de antaño. Sergio Pizzorno cerebro del grupo británico ( compositor y productor) decide obsequiarnos con su incendiario directo en un lujo para los oídos. Tras alcanzar la madurez con su anterior álbum y tras unos 3 notables trabajos anteriores. Podemos disfrutar de su concierto en el O2 londinense con 19 temas en los que basándose en "Velociraptor" y "The west ryder pauper lunatic asylum" dan forma, junto a los hits de sus 2 primeras obras, a una golosina para sus fans. Si no conoces a los chicos de Pizzorno es una buena manera de empezar.
Con un sonido excelente y con un Tom Meighan, el cantante principal (Sergio también canta), mas centrado que nunca y pletórico de voz durante todo el show.
Es divertido oír al publico desgañitandose con los temas mas celebrados de la banda como "Underdog", "Club foot" o "Fire" tema que siempre cierra acertadamente sus conciertos, pues es todo un himno.
Los he visto en varias ocasiones, Madrid, Budapest… y siempre dejan un excelente sabor de boca. En mi opinión han llenado el hueco dejado por Oasis (de los que son amigos) y el resto de bandas de Brit pop, a un escalón comercialmente hablando que no de calidad, de los Empalagosos Coldplay o los Grandilocuentes Muse. Suenan como si los Oasis mas rockeros tocaran los temas mas electrónicos de Primal scream.
Acompañados por su teclista de apoyo en directo Ben Kealey con un gran arte a la hora de tocar su Hammond y por un trio de de sección de viento, Trombon, saxofón y trompeta. Logran trasladar todos los matices de sus canciones en estudio al directo. Mas que un directo es un Greatest Hits que grupo actual británico puede ofrecernos un doble en directo sin aburrirnos?. Ecos a Pink Floyd en "ID" estos Holigans acérrimos del Leicester city demuestran que son una banda a tener en cuenta. " Man of simple pleasures" pone en relieve lo mejor de los británicos pues es una de las canciones mas logradas de la banda con un puente y un estribillo que se te grabara a fuego…
"Take aim" es un tema hipnótico una especie de espagueti western bañado en ácido que aquí interpretan de manera rotunda, imposible permanecer quieto al escucharla.
Chris Edwards e Ian Mathews bajista y batería de la banda están compenetrados a la perfección, una de las bases rítmicas mas ricas del panorama actual músculo y groove por igual.
"La fe verte" con un intro de piano clásico y luego un desarrollo Beatleiano y la reposada "Goodbye kiss", ideal para dedicar a tu ex, son los momentos mas tranquilos del concierto. A partir de ahí otro torrente de sus canciones mas contundentes para que acabemos a sus pies. Mención aparte para "Switchblade smiles" que suena como deberían sonar U2 si fueran mas valientes y la vertiginosa "Vlad the impaler".
Dispuesto a visitar el infierno si Kasabian tocan ahí.

If you do not know the guys Pizzorno is a good way to start.With great sound and a Tom Meighan, lead singer (Sergio also sings), more focused than ever and full of voice throughout the show.It's fun to hear the audience bawling most celebrated themes of the band as "Underdog", "Club Foot" or "Fire" subject that aptly closes his concerts, it is a hymn.I've seen them several times, Madrid, Budapest ... and always leave a good impression. In my opinion they have filled the gap left by Oasis (of which are friends) and the rest of Brit pop bands, commercially speaking to a step that quality of cloying Coldplay or Muse grandiloquent. They sound like the most rockers Oasis touch more electronic items Primal Scream.
Accompanied by her keyboardist Ben Kealey live support with a great art when playing his Hammond and a trio of horn section, trombone, saxophone and trumpet. They manage to move all the nuances of their songs live in the studio. More than a Greatest Hits Live is a group that can now offer a dual British live without getting bored?. Echoes of Pink Floyd in "ID" these Holigans staunch Leicester City show they are a band to be reckoned with. "Man of Simple Pleasures" highlights the best of the British as it is one of the most accomplished songs of the band with a bridge and a chorus that you recorded a fire ..."Take Aim" is a kind of hypnotic theme spaghetti western here bathed in acid roundly interpreted, impossible to sit still when listening.Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews bassist and drummer are blended to perfection, one of the richest rhythmic foundation of the current scene and groove muscle equally."Faith verte" with a classical piano intro and then a restful development and Beatle-esque "Goodbye kiss", ideal to spend with your ex, are the quieter moments of the concert. From there another torrent of their strongest songs to end up at his feet. Special mention for "Switchblade Smiles" that sounds like U2 would sound if they were more courageous and the dizzying "Vlad The Impaler".Willing to visit hell if Kasabian play there.
