Qué gusto da redactar una nueva entrada escuchando de fondo el disco de hoy!!. Me parece un acierto increíble empezar el disco con un tema como "Time To Pretend" siendo el disco de presentación del grupo, es posiblemente el tema que más les representa como banda, despreocupados, jóvenes y con ansias de comerse el mundo, vamos toda una declaración de intenciones!.
Sobre el año 2005 ya dieron la señal al mundo que iban a dar que hablar con unos sonidos de teclados pegadizos en el tema "Pieces Of What" pero sin llegar a conocerse, varios años después llega la dicha "Time To Pretend" y de ahí al éxito.
Andrew Vanwyngarden durante el disco juega a ser Jagger e incluso por momentos a Syd Barrett haciendo gala que tiene capacidad para cualquier cosa en cambio Ben Goldwasser hace durante todo el álbum un repertorio de sonidos electrónicos psycodelicos que nos cautiva, con melodías muy simples pero tremendamente resultonas. Pero no os vayáis a equivocar si buscáis en ellos a unos Pink Floyd modernos, "puede" y solo digo "puede" que en algún tema tengan un resvalón intencionado y se les note la influencia como en "4th Dimensional Transition".
Cuando haces la primera escucha del disco es posible que no te impacte demasiado como me paso a mí, pero cuando haces la segunda escucha empiezas a darte cuenta que el disco se compone de Hit tras Hit.
Tengo que echar la mente muy atrás para encontrarme en una situación similar de un disco que me impactara tanto con reminiscencias electrónicas, en este caso hablo del "Surrender" de Chemical Brothers de 1999. Tras casi una década después es como haberme encontrado con un amigo olvidado, una década puede ser mucho tiempo o una breve espera, eso es parte de los sentidos de cada uno. La madurez que presentan en el disco es muy superior a la esperada, canciones como "Kids" o "Electric Feel" alimentan mi curiosidad por recuperar sonidos pasados y con "The Youth"comienzan a vislumbrarse las ideas que MGMT querían plasmar en el disco, un corte mas emotivo y personal con ritmo tenue y sereno. Con las siguientes canciones "Of Moons, Birds & Monsters" "The Handsnake" y "Future Reflections" nos dan una pequeña tregua, temas con un aire mas relajado y sesentero que hace que terminemos el disco con un sabor dulce. También habría que destacar que el disco tiene ese aura de Vintage Sonoro, es moderno, electrónico pero también recuerda a décadas pasadas. Te hace sentir por momentos de nuevo un adolescente deshinbido.
Termino comentando que es un disco altamente recomendable para cualquiera que tenga preferencias musicales tanto sean Rock, Electrica, Psycodelia, Indie Pop...por lo que seguir hablando de él es una perdida de tiempo de escucha maravillosa, hazme caso y hazte con él y disfrutalo como hago yo en estos momentos!.

With the following songs "Of Moons, Birds & Monsters" "The Handsnake" and "Future Reflections" give us a short truce, subjects with a more relaxed and sixties finish makes the disc with a sweet taste. It should also be noted that the disc has that aura of Vintage Sound, is modern, but also remember to address decades. It makes you feel at times a teenager again uninhibited.I conclude by saying that it is a highly recommended album for anyone with musical preferences are both Rock, Electric, psychedelia, Indie Pop .. so keep talking about it is a waste of time to listen to wonderful, trust me and grab him and enjoy it as I do right now!.
