"The Posies" es una de las bandas de Seattle mas infravaloradas y menos reconocidas por el gran público. Aunque Jon Auer y Ken Stringfellow son dos compositores artesanos de grandes canciones POP de la vieja escuela como fueron en su dia Jagger/Richards o Lennon/MCcartney.
En este,su cuarto álbum endurecieron su sonido con un resultado rabioso y agresivo en muchas canciones como las inicial "Daily Mutilation" o la siguiente "Ontario" donde al final del tema dicen "Pájaros negros nos sobrevuelan esperando que alguien muera" un texto muy en plan Edgar Allan Poe.
"Throwaway" y Fight It (If You Want) son temas mas POP que no hubieran desencajado para nada en su anterior "Frosting On The Beater"
en "Hate Song" cuentan con la colaboracion de dos de sus heroes.Rick Nielsen ( Cheap Trick) a la guitarra y de Robin Zander (Cheap Trick) a la voz si se puede decir asi porque mas que nada solo grita en plan aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh en toda la canción.
Pero lo mejor del álbum para mi son. "Please Return It " y "Precius Moments" dos geniales canciones donde las grandes melodías POP se mezclan con las guitarras mas potentes y duras.
Otros temas a destacar son: "Grant Hart" un homenaje al que fuera miembro de la legendaria banda Punk HÜSKER DÜ. "World" es una preciosa balada lacrimógena mientras que "Everybody Is A Fuckling Liar" es un FUCK YOU en toda regla a las discográficas, prensa o religión.
Otros grandes temas son la bellisima "The Certainty" o la barroca "Broken Record".

In this, his fourth album hardened their sound with an angry and aggressive result in many original songs like "Daily Mutilation" or next "Ontario" where at the end of the topic say "Black birds flying over us waiting for someone to die" a very well Edgar Allan Poe in plan.

But the best of the album for me are. "Please Return It" and "Moments precius" two great songs where great pop melodies mixed with powerful guitars and hard.
Other items to note are: "Grant Hart" a tribute to the late member of the legendary punk band Husker Du. "World" is a beautiful ballad tear while "Everybody Is A Liar Fuckling" FUCK YOU is a full-fledged record labels, press or religion.
