La banda canadiense edita su cuarto disco y tras su aclamado "Learn & Burn" ganador de varios JUNO, Grammys canadienses. Ponen toda la carne en el asador y pretenden dar el salto a USA y sobretodo a Europa. Este largo esta producido por Patrick Carney batería de Black Keys y el editor de la Revista Rolling stone Austin Scaggs. La banda participo en un concurso donde 15 bandas lucharon a brazo partido por la portada de la mítica revista… y ganaron!. Fueron la primera banda sin contrato en aparecer en la portada ese fue su premio.
Si no conoces a la banda y alguien te pone el disco te transportaran a la época de Woodstock de inmediato. Es rock del de toda la vida con toques sureños, boogie-rock, blues… grandes canciones y pegadizas melodías. En una época en la que todo el mundo juega a ser moderno ellos son tan clásicos como puedan ser unos Black Crowes. Suenan a bandas de la época, de finales de los sesenta principios de los setenta pero con personalidad propia.
No saldrán en las revistas de tendencias como Kings of Leon, pero su música es honesta, de raíces. No venderán como The Black Keys, la vida es así de injusta aunque sus discos sean mas redondos y contundentes. Y no ocuparan el trono de The Black Crowes porque no lo pretenden, aunque talento no les falta.
Su anterior disco ya era un notable ejercicio de ROCK en toda regla y esta vez con mas medios y también con mas presión han parido un excelente disco. Grandes riffs, vibrantes solos y unos coros que te emocionan y te alegran el día. La versión de luxe incluye temas del disco en formato acústico que les aporta unos matices que no tenían en su versión standard. Si en su anterior trabajo había lo menos 5 Singles que deberían haber puesto las radios de rock patas arriba aquí la cosa se dispara. será muy injusto si no logran su objetivo.

Ewan currie tiene una voz cálida y potente a la vez. La base rítmica es una maravilla tan conjuntada que parece una sola persona, y Leot Hanson es un guitar hero de los de antes!
La banda tango se marca un tema acústico precioso "Never gonna get my love", como un tema instrumental lleno de magia "Javelina" Son capaces de dejarte en posicion fetal al borde del orgasmo con un temazo como "Is your dream worth dyin' for" digno de cualquier gran banda de rock de los setenta…
Este disco es uno de esos que van creciendo a cada escucha y que parece hecho para los seguidores del Popu. Hay momentos que dices ahora iría bien un solo aquí un coro allá, y siempre te complacen!
Ninguna canción supera los cuatro minutos y medio pero son capaces de meter dos solos impresionantes en un mismo tema, que encima lo corees y se te vayan los pies como el excelente "How late, How long".
Si tienes ganas de disfrutar de cuatro músicos tocando y disfrutando juntos, este es tu disco. Si buscas una banda que te excite de nuevo como lograron los Cuervos de Atlanta en el lejano 1992… The Sheepdogs son tu banda. Como rezaban los discos de Tesla "No machines just wood".
