Posiblemente sea una de las voces más distintivas y representativas de la música rock de los últimos tiempos, como el líder de Pearl Jam desde hace más de 20 años, Eddie Vedder, una vez más se alejó de su banda para lanzar un álbum en solitario, el primer álbum en solitario fue "Into The Wil"' una banda sonora de 2007. Éste sin embargo es algo diferente y Eddie nos da un álbum de canciones interpretadas por completo con un ukulele. Sí, con ukelele...interesante eh ...
Tengo que admitir, que cuando me entere del contenido del álbum no me entusiasmaba demasiado la idea de escucharlo, ya que creía que no me gustaría, pero es de hecho, todo lo contrario. Este es un álbum con un concepto tan diverso que me tiene enganchado, las canciones son simples, inocentes y, a veces inquietantes. Vedder es el único artista a día de hoy que podría sacar algo como esto en proyecto, sin embargo, quiero decir que ni siquiera alguien con algo de idea podía pensar que sería un éxito sin más, pero la industria de la música sabe adapte al prestigio de Vedder sin tomar riesgo en algo como esto. Son 16 canciones en el álbum, donde la mayoría de ellas han sido escritas por Vedder además de seis temas rescatados de finales de los años 20s y se adaptan perfectamente para al ukelele y a este proyecto.
Habría que destacar las participaciónes de "Glen Hansard" de The Swell Season como invitados en "Sleepless Nights" donde pone su estilo distintivo a la canción con Vedder en unas armonías grandes, y la de la popular cantante de rock Cat Power uniéndose a Vedder en "Tonight You Belong To Me", y hacen un dueto precioso. El álbum termina con una versión de "Dream A Little Dream" y es una manera perfecta de terminar el álbum.
Es la música de fondo perfecta para un día de tranquilidad donde te sientas a tomar un café y a leer. Recomiendo este álbum para todos los fans de Eddie Vedder y Pearl Jam. Y aunque no tenga un sonido cotidiano a lo que estamos acostumbrados a escucharle, es un ejemplo perfecto para empezar a probar música diferente.

I have to admit, when I heard about the contents of the album did not relish the idea of listening, believing that I would not, but is in fact quite the opposite. This is an album with a concept so diverse that got me hooked, the songs are simple, innocent and sometimes disturbing. Vedder is the only artist today who could pull something like this project, however, mean that even someone with some idea could think that would be a hit no more, but the music industry knows the prestige suits Vedder without taking risk on something like this. There are 16 songs on the album, where most of them have been written by Vedder and six items rescued from the late 20s and are perfectly suited for this project and the ukulele.
Should highlight the stakes of "Glen Hansard" The Swell Season as guests in "Sleepless Nights" where he puts his distinctive style to the song with great harmonies Vedder, and the popular rock singer Cat Power joining Vedder "Tonight You Belong To Me", and they do a beautiful duet. The album ends with a cover of "Dream A Little Dream" and is a perfect way to end the album.
It is the perfect background music for a day of tranquility where you sit and have a coffee and read. I recommend this album to all fans of Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam. And even without a daily sound to what we are used to hear him, is a perfect example to start testing different music.
