Que nos encontramos detrás de este nombre tan poco comercial. pues ni
mas ni menos que a GREEN DAY en un proyecto paralelo, que dio a la luz
la banda californiana en el 2008 con referencias sesenteras. bandas en
las cuales se inspiraron podrían ser: The Kinks,The Who,Buddy
Holly,Tommy James And The Shondells,Elvis Costello... todas ellas quedan
plasmadas en este Cd de debut de poco mas de media hora, con una media
de tres minutos por canción o incluso menos. Foxboro Hot Tubs podrían
haber sacado este cd con el nombre de Green Day y haber vendido como
churros,pero Billie Joe,Mike y Tré aun tienen los pies en el suelo y de
vez en cuando hacen gala de su underground. Y eso es algo digno de
admirar en estos tiempos de mainstream. En el disco nos encontramos
con canciones puramente salvajes y rockeras como la inicial "Stop Drop
And Roll" que da titulo al álbum,donde no parecen para nada Green Day si
no te lo dicen, y aun asi no te lo crees.pero a lo que escuchas según
que canciones se nota el sonido Green Day por alguna canción por ahí
como en "Broadway" o en "She's A Saint Not A Celebrity". Las mejores
canciones de álbum en mi opinión son: "Red Tide" donde suenan a Pop
Psicodelico tipo The Kinks al igual que recuerdan también a estos en
"Alligator" donde parece claramente el "All Day And All Of The Night" o
el "I Need You" o "You Really Got Me" con un claro riff inspirado en
estos tres temas. Luego hay temas de puro Power-Pop como son "Pieces
Of Truth" que se combinan a la perfeccion con canciones mas R&B
Sixtie con claras influencias de los primeros The Who como es la cancion
"27th Ave.Shuffle" o piezas de Pop almas puro estilo de unos The
Monkees como en "Sally". Y de broche final nos encontramos con una
maravillosa balada Psicodelica tipo Jefferson Airplane. En definitiva un
disco más que correcto y bastante mas honesto que lo que últimamente
lleva la etiqueta de Green Day.

That we are behind this name as uncommercial. Well, neither more nor less than a Green Day side project, which gave birth the Californian band in 2008 with sesenteras references. bands which could be inspired: The Kinks, The Who, Buddy Holly, Tommy James And The Shondells, Elvis Costello ... all of which are embodied in this debut CD of just over half an hour, with an average of three minutes per song or less. Foxboro Hot Tubs could have brought this CD with the name of Green Day and have sold like hotcakes, but Billie Joe, Mike and Tré still have their feet on the ground and occasionally flaunt their underground. And that is something to behold in these times of mainstream. On the record we find purely wild and rock songs as the initial "Stop Drop And Roll" album's title, which do not seem to anything Green Day if not tell you, and yet you never crees.pero to songs you hear as you notice that the sound for any Green Day song around like in "Broadway" or "She's A Saint Not A Celebrity". The best songs of album in my opinion are: "Red Tide" where psychedelic pop sounding like The Kinks also like to remind those in "Alligator" which seems clearly the "All Day And All Of The Night" or "I Need You "or" You Really Got Me "with a clear riff inspired by these three topics. Then there are tracks of pure Power-Pop like "Pieces Of Truth" that blend seamlessly with most R & B songs Sixtie with influences of early The Who as the song "27th Ave.Shuffle" or pieces of pure souls Pop about the Monkees style as "Sally". And the final touch we have a wonderful ballad type Psychedelic Jefferson Airplane. Definitely a disc more than fair and honest enough but what ultimately labeled Green Day.
