MEAT PUPPETS
"TOO HIGH TO DIE"
London Records
1994

*****

"Too High To Die" is the eighth album by Meat Puppets and was released in 1994. Meat Puppets began his career as a folk and hardcore punk and alternative rock evolved with a much more melodic and upbeat, without being a grunge band, I always tried to put that label as one of the fathers of the movement influence bands like Nirvava.
What a way to start an album with the intro of this song is the best introduction to effervescence Grunge, "Violet Eyes" is a song that I love, fast, guitar and blending of voices to remind me to Alice In Chains at times, with a low battery and a very brand-90s. "Never to be found" this song contains some of his more contemporary, but still using a more folk sound reminiscent of the beginning, not bad, but after listening to my various makes me repetitive and irritating. "We Dont Exist" is another of my favorite of the album, the sound is folk take off again and come dangerously close to a sound between Punk and Grunge, his early guitar fast is awesome!. "Severed Hand Godess" is more melodic and softer than before, the only after the first chorus I love, this song makes me think that way in a summer day through dirt road with a large valley. "Flaming Heart" is a sequel to "Severed Hand Godess" peel back the hue of joy and lightheartedness. "Shine" is very very soft, I feel happy when I hear it, the feeling that travels to pace the subject countries. "Station" just do not like, I do not find nothing to seem a little silly in its composition. Instead "Roof With A Hole" is the best disk. This song is notable for its bluesy sound and depressing, with a good mix of an acoustic guitar with electric. Awesome! "Backwater" is one that I love, captures a feeling optimistic Grunge sound, is difficult to understand how hearing this and an album of his 80's and continue to sound the same. "Things" is rather contrary to what we were hearing so far, has a more heavy and depressing, not to say it's one of my favorites for its dark and gloomy atmosphere. "Why?" It will be for the title makes me think of old memories for some reason, a sweet guitar riff, a smooth blend of drums, and a bass line right. Very sweet. "Evil Love" is the most "punk" disc, quick and rough, it is not my favorite. And finally "Comin 'Down" as not being objective with this song, I hear it and it makes me smile, sounds like home and scouts camp with frifoles menu. LoL.
A great album for a band parent grandisima many other far more reputable. If someone who likes alternative rock, Rock or Grunge must listen to this album immediately. Despite some carelessness in a song has very few flaws, it's worth!
